With an official statement, the Lega Serie A wanted to reiterate its commitment to a sensitive issue such as violence against women. That is why, on the occasion of the thirteenth day of the championship (including Torino-Inter), the initiative "a red to violence" will take place.
A RED TO VIOLENCE – The Lega Serie A and WeWorld Onlus renew their commitment to defending women's rights and against all forms of abuse towards the female universe by presenting, in view of the International Day against violence on women, the third edition of the #UNROSSOALLAVIOLENZA national awareness campaign. In Italy and in the world, one woman in three is a victim of violence. The situation is dramatic and even more serious is the fact that people get used to abuse, to the point of believing that they are normal. Violence is subtle and silent and it is not easy to see it. "We are at the forefront of raising public awareness of a dramatic and unacceptable phenomenon. The campaign that we conceived three years ago serves precisely to put this kind of violence in the spotlight, with which it is not possible to live together. Our message reached ten million people last year, the Serie A is ready to do its part and for this I thank all the players who will take the field with the mark on the face to give a red card to violence against women ", said the President of the Lega Serie A, Gaetano Miccichè .
IMPORTANT ALLY – " One of the most difficult problems of those who work with women victims of violence is to be able to intercept them and bring them out into the open. To counter the problem it is necessary to intervene on the effects of physical and economic violence, and to stand alongside women who want to build a new life, but it is equally important to light a spotlight, talk about it, make these women feel that they are not alone. This is why I am so proud to have an ally like Lega Serie A alongside us because together we can trigger a powerful movement that tells these women that another life is possible ", commented Marco Chiesara, President of WeWorld Onlus.
PHASES OF THE INITIATIVE – The world of football is ready to make its contribution, for this reason the races of the 13th Round 1 of the TIM Serie A 2019/2020 (including Torino-Inter , ed) will turn red. The symbol of the campaign #unrossoallaviolenza in fact, recalls the red card to exorcise together with all the women victims of violence the fear that they live every day. Concretely the players and the referees will go down on the pitch with a red mark on their faces, accompanied to the entrance into the field by little girls who will wear the shirt of the initiative. A strong signal also from the captains of all the teams, who will wear the symbol of the day. In addition, a banner will be displayed in each field and the campaign spot will be broadcast on the giant screens, to make the audience in the stands and viewers aware that the red card to be shown is that of violence against women. The Lega Serie A and WeWorld Onlus commitment does not stop there. Even the social media will turn red with photos of the players along with their companions and other testimonials who, alone or in pairs, will declare their commitment by publishing a photo with the symbol of the campaign, urging their followers to do the same with the hashtag #unrossoallaviolenza .
TESTIMONIAL – This year the campaign's testimonials will be sportsmen Marco Materazzi , Bernardo Corradi, Alessandro Del Piero, Elisa Di Francisca, Marta Pagnini and Rossella Brescia, who together with Lega Serie A and WeWorld Onlus will launch an appeal with a commercial to give everyone together #unrossoallaviolence. But it will not be just the world of sport that will be the protagonist since an important support to the initiative will come from the world of cinema, from TV, from companies and institutions, through the faces of Benedetta Porcaroli, Camilla Filippi, Francesca Senette, Francesco Mandelli, Federico Russo, Giorgia Cenni and Giulia Elettra Gorietti.
