Matias Vecino spoke after the match against Spal and focused on the goals in the league and on Conte's position: -What did you have to bring out the team to win? We knew it would be a difficult race. I believe the team is learning to know how to suffer in times of difficulty, which is the thing that matters, because there are times when the other team attacks and we must be compact. To then return to hurt because we have players there in front who are very well. -This team is pulling out a lot of heart and lots of garra, are we wrong? Oh yeah. There are situations in which the game fails and it takes game and character to bring home the three points, the one that counts most of all. – So many players out there, has this empowered you the most so far? We know that we are suffering from the absence of important players. We are these here and we must give our best for the group, for the fans, for everyone because we are playing fundamental competitions. -Do the team now have to get used to being the owner of their own destiny? Definitely. The last years lacked continuity in performance and results. And Conte is working on this mentality. -How many days are you planning to keep Juve behind? We hope to make it last until the end. We have this in mind, we have to keep our feet on the ground because we lack so much. But it would be a great success for everyone. -What did Conte tell you in the locker room? To try to suffer a little less, to manage better. Because in the last few races I believe that the second half could have been better managed but we have to suffer because all the teams want to play their game. It will always happen. (Source: SS24)
